On The Radio

Over a year ago, I did a fantastic radio show and even did a reading online. I highly encourage checking out the link and listening in. It’s especially helpful for people who have not had a reading done, actually listen. It can alleviate a lot of fears 🙂

My Shop Is Live

by angela 0 Comments

I have opened an Etsy shop! Angie’s Divine Things will feature one of a kind altar cloths that I create in my spare time. I am also making scrying mirrors each month to sell. I am not doing any kind of custom work as I don’t have the time to add that to my already busy schedule. Plus, to be painfully honest, I really don’t want to do custom work. My knitting tends to be on the fly and quite random.

I am slowly getting myself started as a content writer and I am hoping that it takes off soon. I am also working hard at finding new shops to read at so that I am spread out around town and filling in some empty spots.

I at least feel like I am in a good place!

New Changes

So I am sitting in my new office space (which is not as glamorous as it sounds) and working hard at a list of things I need to get done while waiting for start up funds to clear for my new job. One of those things was to update things around here in this space. I have added a page in regards to services I offer. I did not include taking on students as I am still working on that and will add it as I get things more refined with that. I am also trying to tidy up the appearance. My biggest beef is that the font is too light considering the background. So I might just need to change the background so that the words are easier to read. Not sure yet. My friend, whom I usually run to for this sort of thing, is quite busy. So perhaps in the next week I can get that sorted.

I did change my header. I adored the Freyja header but once I removed a couple of unnecessary buttons from it, it got weird looking. So I am on the hunt for a new Freyja header. I might have to create it myself and I have no idea how well that will turn out. I am going to sit with my mountains header for just a bit while I get that worked out.

In the meantime, it’s off to Etsy to create a shop for all my scrying mirrors and knitted goodies. Didn’t make any mirrors this month, but that’s okay. I will have time to make more before October Full Moon.

All Sorts Of Updates

The big news is, I went through Clergy Orientation/Training at the local hospital. It will make it so much easier for me to access our pagan/non-Christian community members who are in the hospital and wish to have clergy be with them for spiritual guidance or rites before procedures. I am super excited about this and look forward to being of service.

I have updated my Events Page with all of my scrying sessions, workshops, and rituals for the year. This week I will finish writing all of those workshops and rites up so that I can begin working on my curriculum for teach Witchcraft. I am hoping that I will be kicking off the lessons by Jan 1. Since this is a new venture for me, I am a bit nervous about it.

I am also looking into learning Old Norse to help further my magic and rites to the Old Gods. I will be starting this month but my schedule is so hectic that I really won’t be knee deep into it until November.

On the business front I am working hard at streamlining registration for workshops online. I have set up my invoicing systems on Square and people can now pay online securely and through the same app I use on my phone. Having it all in one place will be lovely! I am hoping to figure out how to make gift certificates so that people can purchase those in the holiday season.

Busy busy busy! It’s that time of year and I love it!

Keeping That Momentum Going

With all the stuff taking place, I am still moving forward and getting things done. Always feels good to be getting things done! Most recently I was interviewed for the Charm The Water podcast. Interviews always turn out great but I tend to be sooooo terribly nervous. I want to be that very fluid speaker but my brain and mouth seem to be detached. And my brain moves much faster! Anywho, it will be nice if I can squeeze in another interview this year (but after October LOL!).

Yesterday I did my clergy training at the hospital. I need to get a letter of appointment from our temple council to turn in and I get my badge next week. What this means is that I can gain access to almost every part of the hospital to be with any congregant. There are a few exceptions to that but not many. Being at the hospital will mean that anyone in our spiritual community (including those of you who are visiting us and have an unfortunate emergency) can request me to come and hold prayer, sacred space, anoint, or just chat, to assist in your healing process. This also means that if someone asks me to visit you because they are worried for you, I can go. BUT. You can also refuse me at any time. Overall I am excited but also nervous at learning the hospital process and making sure I don’t step on toes.

I have also gotten the rest of the calendar year planned at the shop. I added one event to the calendar here but due to my computer not wanting to cooperate, I have to wait to add the rest. In addition to readings, I have plenty of workshops coming. Baba Yaga, Krampus, and a ritual for Frau Holle are in the works. So much win for 2016!

Will post more soon and get the other events added within the week. Or at least I hope to. Blessed Be!

Updates and New Stuff

So I recently had a meeting with a contact at the local hospital about volunteering to sit vigil with the dying, particularly those alone. Looks like I have a few hoops to jump through and initially I was overwhelmed by that. But ultimately I decided that those hoops are in place to make sure that I am very determined to do what I am called to do. So the very next step is to do some clergy training at the hospital and get a clergy badge for admittance. Then I will talk some more with them on how to volunteer my time and how I fit into their chaplain program that is already in place. I certainly won’t be making any money at this but I think it’s a fantastic start anyway. I still have a long list of people to talk to and just haven’t had the time.

I also had a friend contact me about a possible business venture downtown. I won’t be revealing what that is just yet but we are researching what we need to do to get that into place. Right now it’s something seasonal. Who knows what direction it could go in! But let’s not get too far ahead of ourselves here.

Life threw me a curveball recently and I am reeling from it. But I am hanging on to those things that I am called to do and embracing that not only am I one tough chick, but I am also one really smart chick. I will get through this somehow. I have been repeatedly told that I am made for challenges. It would just be nice to experience an easy time for longer than a few months.

I don’t want to end this on a bad note so my gratitude for today is awesome friends, resourcefulness, and the Divines. I couldn’t do this without any one of them.

Big Things Heading Our Way!

It’s been awhile since I have updated things around here. I have been asked to be a part of the Ask A Witch Panel in October at a local shop. Once they’ve created the event page on Facebook, I will post an event here.

I have been recently asked to take on students and have decided that this is something I am willing to take on. I am fleshing out curriculum and logistics. No getting excited just yet, this won’t be rolled out until AFTER October. I simply have so much planned for right now that I want to give this a lot of care and nurturing before I do it.

Today I am meeting with someone to discuss volunteering at the hospital and hopefully start working with people who are alone and dying. It feels important to start there when it comes to death midwifery. Who better to teach me then those who are afraid and alone? So many people see this vision of mine as an act of compassion, and it certainly is, but it’s also very much going to be my teacher. I am both nervous and excited for this leg of the journey!

Lastly, I have been trying hard to keep up with my personal writings. Journaling and poetry are my main focus. At some point I hope to write essays but not quite yet. I have recently submitted a poem to an anthology for Medusa and to We’Moon datebook for 2018. This morning I learned that my poem for the Medusa Anthology was accepted! You can see it on their blog, The Girl God. I won’t hear anything back from We’Moon for awhile and that’s okay. I am putting lots of good juju around it because I would love to see my name published (yea, that’s a bit of ego right there!).

Overall, things are incredible and feeling like I am getting them glued together into a solid picture. I am in love with my life and wouldn’t change it for the world! And as these new directions flesh out, there will be lots more posted here on the site to keep you all updated.

Blessed Be My Lovies!

Changes Abound

So I recently left a job……without a backup plan in place. And I have been taking this time to not only find some sort of income flow but also to consider a career change. I have been wanting (and have been called to) work in Death Midwifery. Overall the vision is for me to start working voluntarily through the hospital with people who are left alone while dying. Beyond that, the final outcome is one in which I still sit vigil but I have a business in which I offer funeral planning services. Think wedding planner but for death. It’s in my 2-5 year plan range. I have a few things I need to do in the coming weeks and then hopefully by the end of the year I will be actively sitting vigil.

It’s a slightly scary endeavor with changing careers later in life but also heading into unknown territory and how will I make this work? I have lots of support though and I am certainly grateful for all the people offering info and support. As more takes place, more will be posted here. Eventually this site will change to all the things I am doing rather than just the classes and scrying. Exciting, isn’t it?

I Made The Local Rag

A while back I was fortunate enough to get interviewed for the local newspaper that wanted to feature alternative religions during the month of June. And that article has finally hit the internet!

I am super proud of the article and pleasantly surprised at how well the picture turned out. I am not usually fond of pics that other people take of me. Feedback from co-workers and friends have been very positive. Tomorrow the paper copy comes out and that might be where the real test is. The usual commenters on the local paper tend to be super conservative and not-so-nice (to put it nicely). So we shall see. I am promising myself not to take things personal and if it gets to be too much, I stop looking!

And today also finds me adding an event here to the webpage (a vigil for Orlando) and sending an outline for an Ancestor Vigil to a friend in Johnson City (where I am going to be doing one of my own!). I am super excited about the leads for exciting stuff coming my way. I really cannot wait to share with you other things that I am working on!

Blessed Be My Lovies!!!!!!!!

Planning For 2017

Kennedy Trail Tree

So here I am, planning for travels in 2017. 2016 has rendered a few travels and I am bitten by the bug to move abroad, meet, network, and teach. I have several events on the eastern seaboard that I am looking at doing, whether I just attend or teach. As I book those events and get approvals for proposals, I will announce those events here in a post as well as put on my events calendar. As time goes by, I hope to be traveling further west and seeing how that side of the continent lives and practices. One of the places I really want to go to is Louisiana! But all in due time. I need to really brand myself a bit…..but not too much because I still want to be my authentic self. And as I travel, I will be posting more about those events in recap style posts. So I am all ears, if you think of an event that might be a great one to visit I would love you to comment or shoot me an email. I will say this, please do not recommend Salem Mass in October! Firstly, I cannot go too far from NC as I am often quite busy in October here with temple events. Secondly, that’s just too crowded for my tastes and I will be happy to visit our Witchy Family at other times of the year.

I can’t wait to see what the year holds 🙂
